Coffee Artifacts invite the user to ritualize the simple practice of drinking coffee. Handcrafted from stainless steel, the objects evoke archaeological artifacts. Their surfaces are unadorned and based on simple shapes, delicately balancing function and form. Existing only within their own context, the artifacts remain ambiguous, encouraging users to infuse them with their own meanings and ritualistic habits.
The Artifacts are the result of exploring the sense of the sacred that emanates from handmade metal objects. The objects are not perfectly polished and still bear traces of the creative process, placing craftsmanship at the very heart of their perceived ritualistic nature.
